New Members are Welcome!

Whether you’re a newcomer to lawn green bowling, or a bowler looking to join a local club, new members are always welcome!

Our green is behind Merrow Village Hall, at 177 Epsom Road. Our season runs from April through to September, and we compete in local men’s, ladies’ and mixed leagues. In addition there are various inter-club friendly matches and club trophy competitions.

Open Days 2023

Friday 12th May, 5.30pm – 8pm

Sunday 14th May, 2pm – 4pm

Monday 29th May, 10am – 4pm

If these are not convenient, please contact us via our Contact form and we will arrange a suitable slot for you.

Access and Parking

We have plenty of free parking at the Village Hall, with disabled parking adjacent to the Bowls Clubhouse (approximately 30 m from the green). We are committed to including everyone at our club, irrespective of age or ability. If you have mobility issues, access to the green is aided by handrails and steps. Currently we do not have a disabled toilet but we do have access to a toilet with just a single  step to negotiate.

We have a selection of bowling aids including bowling arms, bowls lifters, launcher and bowls buddy (frame). At present we do not have any bowls wheelchairs, but we would be happy to pursue this if needed.

Club Nights

Would you like to try lawn bowling? Why not come along to our Tuesday and Thursday club nights which run from 6pm to 8pm, and anyone is welcome to come along to try bowling. All you need to play is a pair of flat soled shoes or trainers – your first four sessions, together with coaching if required, are completely free.

Our 2023 official green opening is on 16th April, with regular club nights starting on the 20th April.

Being part of the Merrow Village Club means that we also have access to other activities, such as snooker, pool, and darts. The club also has a bar with competitively priced drinks. Events are held throughout the year, and a weekly raffle is held on Sundays.
